UNRESERVED TICKETING SYSTEM (UTS):
Unreserved Ticketing System has been extended to a total of 107 stations for providing better services to the Passengers and for quick dispensing of tickets. This is an advanced version, which facilitates issue of tickets from any station to any station. This system enables the passengers to avail the benefit of purchasing general tickets three days in advance for the destination beyond 200 kms.
PASSENGER RESERVATION SYSTEM (PRS):
Passenger reservation system facility has been provided at 77 locations over the division, apart from14 (fourteen) India Post PRS locations viz. Out of 107 UTS locations, at 48 locations reservation facility has been merged with UTS.JANASADHARAN TICKET BOOKING SEWAKS (JTBS):
With a view to extend the general ticket issuing facility to the door step of rail passengers, JTBS are in operation at 8 (Eight) locations Bhimavaram Town, Bhimavaram Junction , Gudivada, Vijayawada, Rajahmundry, TUNI, Gudur & Tenali.
NATIONAL TRAIN ENQUIRY SYSTEM (NTES):
NTES is provided at 3 locations viz. Vijayawada, Nellore & Rajahmundry stations on the division.INTER ACTIVE VOICE RESPONSE SYSTEM (IVRS):
Information facilitation through IVRS is outsourced and accessible through 139 (Rail Sampark) for the entire country. CENTRALIZED PASSENGER ENQUIRY SYSTEM(CPES):
A Centralized Passenger enquiry system is operational over Vijayawada division which caters to the enquiries related to train arrivals and departures of the trains over Vijayawada division. The helpline for the service is 0866-2577775.
PASSENGER OPERATED ENQUIRY TERMINAL (POET) AND TOUCH SCREEN ENQUIRY KIOSKS:
To facilitate the passengers to obtain the required information, 49 POETs have been installed at 39 locations over the division. In addition to the POETs installed, Touch Screen Enquiry kiosks are available at Nellore, Ongole, Chirala,
INSTALLATION OF FARE REPEATER BOARDS :
For the convenience of the passengers a total of 252 fare repeaters were installed at the UTS / PRS booking counters covering 107 stations / locations over the division.
INSTALLATION OF SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS :
To keep a close watch for any antisocial activities and also for better crowd management surveillance cameras are installed at Nellore, Ongole, Vijayawada, Rajahmundry, Kakinada Town stations. In addition, in the recent past additional surveillance cameras were installed for adequate coverage of the entire area in and around the Vijayawada station.
RETIRING ROOMS :
Retiring rooms are available at all major stations like Vijayawada, Tenali, Chirala, Bapatla, Ongole, Nellore, Gudur, Eluru, Tadepalligudem, Nidadavolu, Rajahmundry, Samalkot, Kakinada Town, Annavaram, Tuni, Anakapalli, Bhimavaram Town, Gudivada etc. …..
COOL DRINKING WATER :
For giving improved services to the customer satisfaction, water coolers were installed with potable water at 40 stations including all A1, A & B category stations.
A/C WAITING HALLS :
For the comfort of traveling public air conditioned waiting halls is provided at Platform No. 1 of Vijayawada Station. Additionally another AC waiting hall on platform 6 and 7 of Vijayawada Station and One AC waiting hall on Platform No 1 of Rajahmundry Station are planned to be provided.
COACH INDICATION & TRAIN INFORMATION BOARDS:
In order to give qualitative information to the traveling public, coach indication & train information boards with electronic display have been provided at 30 stations viz. (Train Indication Boards): Anakapalli, Tuni, Annavaram, Samalkot, Kakinada Town, Kakinada Port, Rajahmundry, Godavari, Nidadavolu, Eluru, Vijayawada, Tenali, Chirala, Ongole, Kavali, Nellore, Gudur, Gudivada, Machilipatnam, Bhimavaram Town, Bhimavaram Jn., Palakollu, Singarayakonda, Bapatla, Nidubrolu, Tadepalligudem, Kovvur, Pithapuram, Narsapur, Tanuku and Dwarapudi. (Coach Indication Boards): Anakapalli, Tuni, Annavaram, Samalkot, Kakinada Town, Kakinada Port, Rajahmundry, Godavari, Nidadavolu, Eluru, Vijayawada, Tenali, Chirala, Ongole, Kavali, Nellore, Gudur, Gudivada, Machilipatnam, Bhimavaram Town, Palakollu, Singarayakonda, Bapatla, Nidubrolu, Tadepalligudem, Kovvur, Pithapuram, Narsapur, and Dwarapudi stations over the division. A 10-line True Color LED information board at Vijayawada station has been provided at main entrance and 4-line True Color LED train information board is provided at South side entrance. .
LIFTS & ESCALATORS.
In order to provide better inter-platform transfer facilities, particularly in case of old, aged, Women, Physically challenged passengers, Vijayawada Division has provided Lifts in a big way at many stations viz. Gudur, Nellore, Chirala, Tenali, Kakinada Town and Bhimavaram Town. Work is nearing completion at Samalkot and Vijayawada. Escalators are planned to be provided at Nellore, Tenal, Vijayawada & Rajahmundry stations in the near future. Apart from the existing 2 escalators at Vijayawada Station three more escalators will be provided.
BATTERY OPERATED CARS/WHEEL CHAIRS :
For the convenience of the physically challenged and senior citizen passengers , One Battery operated cars is available free of cost at Vijayawada Station. Wheel chairs are provided at all A1, A, B, D category stations and majority of E class stations over the Division.
PUBLIC GRIEVANCES :
All the stations are provided complaint/suggestion books for registering the grievances and feedback of the customers. Apart from the complaint/suggestion books available at stations passengers can lodge their complaint through SMS on 8121281212.
