Role :

                     The Major function of the Commercial department is to generate revenue through the sale of journey tickets to the traveling public. The commercial department also does the booking of parcels offered by the customers for transportation through rail. For customers who wish to transport the goods in large quantities through rail, the commercial department books them through wagon loads and train loads. Redressal of claims and refunds arising out of cancellation of tickets etc., is also the job of the commercial department. Public grievances arising out of unsatisfactory services provided by the Railway and feedback by the customers are registered and redressed by the commercial department. Moreover the commercial department is ever inclined to coordinate with other departments of Railways in order to provide better services to the passengers.

Passenger Amenities available on Secunderabad Division
  • Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS):
             Unreserved Ticketing System has been extended to a total of 117 stations for providing better services to the Passengers and for quick dispensing of tickets. This is an advanced version, which facilitates issue of tickets from any station to any station. This system enables the passengers to avail the benefit of purchasing general tickets three days in advance for the destination beyond 200 kms.

  • Passenger Reservation System (PRS):
          Passenger reservation system facility has been provided at 103 locations includes15 (Fifteen) satellite locations , this includes 23 (Twenty Three) India Post PRS locations) and 6 (Six) Yatri Ticket Suvidha Kendra (YTSK) in Twin cities

 

Out of 122 UTS locations , at 48 locations reservation facility has been merged with UTS. 

Janasadharan Ticket Booking Sewaks (JTBS):


          With a view to extend the general ticket issuing facility to the door step of rail passengers, JTBS are in operation at 8 (Eight) locations in Manchiryal (Two), Khammam, Tandur, Bellampalli, Udgir, Hafeezpet and Parlivaijnath  stations

 

  • Yatri Ticket Suvidha Kendra  (YTSK):

          With a view to extend the reservation ticket issuing facility to the door step of rail passengers , YTSK are in operation at 6 (six) locations in Secunderabad (1) , Hyderabad (4),  Chandanagar (1).

  • Introduction of Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVMs):


            For the convenience of Rail Passengers and commuters’ user friendly smart card based Automated Ticket Vending Machines are operational at Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Kazipet, Warangal, Khammam, Manhciryal, Ramagundam, Bhadrachalam Road, Dornakal, Bidar, Mahbubabad, Parli Vaijnath, Tandur, Vikarabad, Siprurkagaznagar and 14 MMTS stations. Further, it is proposed to extend the same to all the important stations.


  • GPS based announcement at MMTS stations :


       GPS based announcements are being done at MMTS stations to help the passengers in knowing the correct position of the trains. Moreover new GPS enabled MMTS rakes are being run in which announcements with regard to the arriving station etc., are being done inside the coaches for the convenience of the traveling public

 

  • Coach indication & Train information boards:


                             In order to give qualitative information to the traveling public, coach indication & train information boards with electronic display have been provided at all important stations over the division. In addition to that for the convenience to the traveling passengers VHF based LED destination boards are provided on the exterior of the coaches for important trains. A 10 line True Color LED information board at Secunderabad station has been provided on platform No. 10 at Bhoiguda side circulating area.

  • National Train Enquiry system (NTES):


         NTES is provided at 7 locations on the division, viz Secunderabad Divisional Control Office, Secunderabad Station Enquiry, Hyderabad Station Enquiry, Kazipet station enquiry  ,   Warangal Station Enquiry , Manchiryal station enquiry and Khammam station enquiry. 

  • Inter Active Voice Response System (IVRS):


         Information facilitation through IVRS is outsourced and accessible through 139 (Rail Sampark ) for the entire country.
 

 

  • Railway Helpline (138):

         For the convenience of the travelling passengers, a helpline number is operational over the division. The helpline will address complaints relating to cleanliness , food and catering, Coach maintenance, medical emergency and linen.

 

  • Passenger Operated Enquiry Terminal (POET) and Touch Screen Enquiry Kiosks :


        To facilitate the passengers to obtain the required information, 58 POETs have been installed at 51 locations over the division. In addition to the POETs installed, Touch Screen Enquiry kiosks are available at Secunderabad, Hyderabad , Kazipet , Warangal , Manchiryal, Khammam ,Ramagundam ,Begumpet, Seram, Chittapur, Lakdi-ka-pul stations and five PRS satellite locations  over Secunderabad division. 

 

 

 

 

·Electronic Token system for PRS :

         Electronic Token system for PRS is  available at 2 stations and 6 PRS satellite locations over SC division for easy dispensing of reserved tickets

 

 

·Wheel Chairs:

          Wheel chairs  are provided at all stations over SC division of which 25 are  provided at “A1” category stations,  13 at “ A” category stations,  22 at “B” category stations, 12 at “C” category stations , 24 at “D” category and 75 at “E” category stations.

 

  • Retiring rooms : 

        Retiring rooms are available at Secunderabad , Hyderabad, Kazipet , Warangal,  Bhadrachalam road, Ramagundam , and Parlivaijnath stations over Secunderabad division.

        Online booking of Retiring rooms is open to all the above stations through www.scr.indianrailways.gov.in



  • Pre-Paid A/C Waiting Halls :


        For the comfort of traveling public , Pre-paid air conditioned waiting halls are provided at Secunderabad, Hyderabad,  and Begumpet stations. 




  • Public Grievances :

          All the stations are provided complaint/suggestion books for registering the grievances and feedback of the customers. Apart from the complaint/suggestion books available at stations passengers can lodge their complaint through SMS on 8121281212. Moreover complaints/suggestions related to Catering services can be made on the catering helpline number 9701370964. Further, passengers can lodge their grievances through newly introduced Complaint Management System (COMS) online.






Highlights/Events of the Current  month

·   Appointment of ATVM Facilitators :

 

Eleven ATVM facilitators have been appointed  during this month  (BDCR – 1 , MABD- 2,  WL – 1 , KZJ – 1 ,SKZR- 1,  RDM  - 1, TDU -2 , VKB -1, PRLI - 1) . With these the total ATVMs available are 78 at 29 stations with  59 facilitators over the division.

 

·Appointment of Jansadharan Ticket Booking Sevaks (JTBS) :

 

          During this month , JTBS contract at HFZ has been allotted and commenced. With these , the total JTBS contracts over the division are 8.

 

 

 

·  Service Improvement Group  (SIG):

 

The SIG inspection schedule as given by  DRM has been activated during the month of May’15. During the month of OCT’15 4 SIG inspections at Officers level has been conducted.

 

Nodal officers  DCM-II/SC  has done 1  inspection at PRLI  on 10/10/15,  DCM-I has conducted  1 inspection at MABD  on 30/10/15 and ACM TC& S have done 2 inspections at ALER  on 7/10/15  and MLY on  7/10/15 stations respectively.

 

· Special Trains :

          During this month , 12 Special trains with  24 trips were run . A total of  20201  number  of passengers were carried and an amount of Rs 126.43 lakhs were earned

 

 

 

·Extra Coaches:

          During this month 127 extra coaches were attached to clear the extra rush.

 

· Commissioning of UTS :

 

          UTS has been commissioned at  Khanapur and Humnabad stations in VKB -BIDR – HMBD Section on 17/10/15 , with these the total UTS locations over the division are 122.

 

· Special Efforts

          In view of Dussera vacations, the rate of platform ticket fare has been enhanced at Secunderabad station from the existing Rs. 10/- to Rs. 20/- for a period of ten days. This has been done in order to regulate the segment of non travelers on platform and to avoid congestion on platforms.

 

 

·Issue of Photo ID Cards for differently abled persons:

          During this month , One Hundred and eleven  Photo ID cards for differently abled persons were issued by this office  duly  Verifying the authenticity of concession certificate issued by govt doctors  and feeding the same in the database through  CRIS for enabling issue of  online Reserved and  Un-Reserved Tickets  

With these the total Photo ID cards issued by this division are 209.

 

·Face to Face Enquiry :

          Face to Face enquiries and other passenger related information have been outsourced at  12 stations under 3 clusters  (:G-1 : Warangal , Mahabubabad, Bhadrachalam Road & Khammam for a period of 2 years ; G-II: Kazipet, Ramagundam, Manchiryal  & Sirpur Khagaz nagar for a period of 2 years  ;  G-III: Vikarabad, Tandur , Bidar & Parli Vaijnath)  for a period of  1 year

PASSENGER OPERATIONS

The passenger traffic for the month is 10.32 Million against 10.30 Millions during corresponding month of previous year registering an increase of 0.19 %.

The Total passenger Earnings for the month was 102.93 crores as against Rs. 102.32 crores during corresponding month of previous year registering an increase of 0.60 %.

The UTS passenger traffic for the month is 9.06 Millions as against 9.05 Million during corresponding month of previous year registering an  increase of 0.11 %.

The UTS passenger earnings for the month are Rs. 34.29 crores against Rs. 33.16 crores during corresponding month of previous year registering an increase of 3.41 %.

The PRS passenger traffic for the month is 1.26 Millions as against 1.25 Million during corresponding month of previous year registering an increase of 0.80%.

The PRS passenger earnings for the month are Rs. 68.64 crores against Rs. 69.49 crores during corresponding month of previous year registering a decrease of 1.22 %.

Vehicle Parking :

The 4 wheeler  Vehicle parking at Lakadi-ka-pul Railway station has been awarded in favour of  Shri Srinvas Reddy for  a period of  3 years from 13-11-2015 to   12-1-2018.

Pay & Use Toilets:

The Contract for Maintenance of  Pay and Use toilets at Bellampalli station has been awarded in favour of  Shri D.Bikshapathi for  a period of  5 years from 25-10-2015 to               24-10-2020.

The Contract for Maintenance of  Pay and Use toilets at Ramagundam station has been awarded in favour of  Shri D.Bikshapathi for  a period of  5 years from 06-11-2015 to               05-11-2020.

The Contract for Maintenance of  Pay and Use toilets at Lingampalli station has been awarded in favour of  Shri C.Somashekar for  a period of  5 years from 25-10-2015 to               24-10-2020.

The Contract for Maintenance of  Pay and Use toilets at Secunderabad station on Platform No: 1 and  6/7 has been awarded in favour of  M/s Arvind for  a period of  5 years from 01-11-2015 to 31-10-2020.

The Contract for Maintenance of  Pay and Use toilets at Mancheriyal station has been awarded in favour of  Shri D.Bikshapathi for  a period of  5 years from 06-11-2015 to               05-11-2020.

Commercial Publicity :

The contract for display of commercial advertisement through hoardings/boards and glow signs at Kazipet Railway station, Railway institute, Stadium and School is awarded in favour of M/s Uni Ads Limited for a period of three years  from 10.10.15  to  09.10.18

The contract for display of commercial advertisement through hoardings/boards and glow signs at Bidar Railway station is awarded in favour of M/s Orkay Advertising and Marketing for a period of three years  from 15.11.15  to  14.11.18

FREIGHT OPERATIONS

The goods loading for the month is 5.43 Million Tons as against 5.22 Million Tons during this month of 2014 registering an increase of 4.02 %.

The goods earnings for the month was Rs. 395.70 crores as compared to Rs. 370.44 crores during this month of 2014 with an increase of 6.82 % .

During the month, a total of 1503 rakes were loaded compared to 1454 rakes during the corresponding period of last year of different commodities from various locations over SC division.

During the month, a total of 717 rakes as compared to 840 rakes during corresponding period of last year were unloaded at various locations over SC division.

Change of Name Vicat Sagar Cements to Kalburgi Cements

The name of M/s Vicat Sagar Cements Ltd ( MVCT /TDU) has been changed to M/s Kalburgi  cements Ltd ( KBCT/TDU) during this month

Repeatability test on Electronic - in - motion weigh bridges:

Repeatability test on Electronic-in-motion weigh bridge was done at :

SPSG/KRA  on 13-10-2015, SKP (Rly Weigh Bridge) on 15-10-2015.

Cleanliness :

During this month, cleanliness inspections have been  conducted by the inspectors /Supervisors and an amount of Rs : 1,27,100/-  was realized in the form of penalty against 633 cases.

Catering:

During this month, the number of catering inspections done by officers and inspectors is 82.  An amount of Rs 0.12 lakhswere realized in the form of penalties.

Ticket checking:

During the month, Ticket checking earnings are Rs. 3.23 crores as against Rs. 3.16 crores during the corresponding month of the previous year registering an increase of 2 %.

During the Current financial year up to this month, Ticket Checking earnings are Rs. 20.61 Crores as against Rs. 17.81 Crores during the corresponding period of the previous year registering an decrease 15.71 %.

PASSENGER COMPLAINTS :

During the month, complaints recorded through SMS were 36 as against 56 complaints registering a decrease of 36 % when compared with corresponding period of the last year. 

Complaints recorded in the complaints/suggestion books, 23 as against 36 complaints registering a decrease of 36 % when compared with corresponding period of previous year. 

Seven employees were taken up under D&AR for inviting complaints.
