Recoveries

Recoveries effected from the occupants of Railway Quarters

 

  Occupation of a Railway Quarter attracts recovery of following charges which will be recovered from the salary bill of the occupant.

 

Rent

Water Charges

Electrical Charges

Servant Quarter

Garage Charges

Geyser Charges

     Existing rates of each of the above recoveries is mentioned below for information.

Rent

Rates of rent are fixed by the Railway Board. Periodical advice of Railway Board covers rates of Servant Quarters and Garage together with rates of Rent. The rates in force currently were advised by Railway Board vide letter No. E(X)I-2002/11/1 dt. 22.12.2008 and were effective from 01.01.2009 ( CPO/SC’s Serial Circular No. 206/2008)

Water charges

 

Water charges are fixed by Engineering Department of the Zonal Railway.  The rates are revised once in FIVE years.  The rates in force currently were fixed by PCE/SC vide letter No. W.547/A/12/G/PART/Vol-II/(w-11) dt. 27.05.2009 for the period 01.04.2009-31.03.2014 and are as mentioned below:

Electrical charges

 

Electrical charges, charged by Railways for residential purposes are fixed by Electrical department of the Zonal Railway. The charges basically depend upon the tariff adopted by the respective State Government.  The electrical charges for the Financial Year 2012-13 are mentioned hereunder:

Geyser Charges

In addition to electricity charges, Geyser charges are recovered from the occupants who are provided with a geyser.  Existing rate of Geyser charges are `. 24-00 per month per Geyser effective from 01.04.2012.
