Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu, Hon’ble Minister of Railways Flags off Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam AC Weekly Express and H S Nanded – Aurangabad Weekly Express

Hon'ble MR & Dignitaries seen flagging off the new train at Secunderabad Railway Station o­n 19.01.2015

Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu, Hon’ble Minister of Railways flagged off Train No. 12784 Secunderabad-Visakhaptnam Superfast AC Express (Weekly) and Train No. 17620 H.S.Nanded-Aurangabad Weekly Express (via Remote Video Link) at a function held today i.e., 19th January, 2015 at Secunderabad Railway Station.

 Shri Bandaru Dattaterya, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment (I/C), Govt. of India, was the Guest of Honour. Shri Md. Mahmood Ali, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister, Shri Naini Narsimha Reddy, Hon’ble Home Minister, Shri T. Padma Rao Goud, Hon’ble Minister for Excise & Prohibition, Govt. of Telangana; Shri V. Hanumantha Rao, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Shri K.R. Amos, Hon’ble Member of Legislative Council were amongst the Dignitaries present. Shri D.P.Pande, Member Traffic, Railway Board, New Delhi, Shri P.K.Srivastava, General Manager, South Central Railway and other senior railway officials also participated in the function.

 Addressing a large gathering o­n the occasion, Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu, Hon’ble Minister of Railways stated that Indian Railways is focused o­n meeting the growing demands from the people for increased connectivity and improved services. Indian Railways is set to revamp its plans and strategy towards strengthening infrastructure by means of seeking investments from various new sources. The primary aim of Indian Railways is to act as the engine of growth for the economy, he said. The Hon’ble Minister spoke of plans to formseparate Joint Venture corporations with the State Governments to take up rail developmental projects in partnership with them. In response to the demands from the public, the Hon’ble Railway Minister announced that a new train would be introduced connecting the two famous pilgrim centres of Tirupati and Shirdi.

 Earlier, in his welcome address, Shri P.K.Srivastava, General Manager, SCR stated that the two new trains being introduced will be helpful in meeting the increasing demand for rail travel o­n the two busy routes of Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam and Nanded-Aurangabad.

 The Regular Services of Secunderabad – Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad AC Express (weekly) will commence from 24th January, 2015. Train No.12784 Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam Superfast AC Express (Weekly) will depart Secunderabad every Saturday at 05:55 pm and arrive Visakhapatnam at 06:50 am o­n the next day. In the return direction, Train No.12783 Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad Superfast AC Express (Weekly) will depart Visakhapatnam every Sunday at 07:00 pm and arrive Secunderabad at 07:40 am o­n the next day.

The Regular Services of H.S.Nanded – Aurangabad – H.S.Nanded Weekly Express will commence from 23th January, 2015. Train No.17620 H.S.Nanded - Aurangabad Express (Weekly) will depart H. S. Nanded every Friday at 08:00 am and arrive Aurnagabad at 12:45 pm o­n the same day. In the return direction, Train No.17619 Aurangabad - H.S. Nanded Express (Weekly) will depart Aurangabad every Monday at 00:45 am, and arrive H. S. Nanded at 06.30 am o­n the same day.
