The subject of upgradation of Tirupati Railway Station to world class levels came to the fore during the meeting, with the Hon’ble Ex-MP crediting SCR for taking up the work, and seeking that the same be executed expeditiously. The General Manager informed him that a high benchmark in terms of modern standards has been set for the proposed world class level Tirupati Railway Station with the work being taken up by National Building Construction Corporation (NBCC) under the aegis of Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) with an investment of Rs. 490 crore. Commencement of work on the project is due to commence soon, with the tenders scheduled to open on 11thSeptember, 2018, the General Manager informed the Ex-MP.

On the query of Dr. V.Varaprasada Rao related to conversion of Rayalacheruvu Railway level crossing to Subway, the General Manager, SCR stated that the Railways has accorded approval for construction of Road Under Bridge to replace the Railway level crossing and is awaiting for the consent of State Government to undertake the work. In this connection, the General Manager also brought out the fact that the issue pertaining to the Road Under Bridge was also highlighted by him during his meeting with Chief Secretary, Government of Andhra Pradesh on 09thAugust, 2018 at Velagapudi so as to firm up the construction plan, by getting the State Government’s nod at the earliest.

Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav detailed the Ex-MP on the pace of construction of the prestigious new railway line project between Nadikudi – Srikalahasti, which is expected to be a game changer in the economic progress of Andhra Pradesh, linking new areas on the rail network. Elaborating on the same, the General Manager, SCR stated that works from Srikalahasti side will also be started to supplement the present ongoing works from Nadikudi side, so as to ensure that the new rail line project is completed fast.
