Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav, General Manager, SCR Meets Chief Secretary, Andhra Pradesh


Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav, General Manager, South Central Railway made a visit to Vijayawada today i.e., 16th July, 2018. He held a meeting with Shri Dinesh Kumar, Chief Secretary, Government of Andhra Pradesh at Andhra Pradesh Secretariat, Velagapudi, Amaravati to discuss various issues related to rail development in the state. Shri R. Dhananjayulu, Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada Division and other Senior Railway Officials accompanied the General Manager.

The discussions involving the General Manager, SCR and Chief Secretary,Govt of Andhra Pradesh centered o­n the progress of o­ngoing and new Railway projects in Andhra Pradesh. Works related to new rail lines, electrification, station redevelopment, cost sharing of railway projects, construction of Road over Bridge (ROB) / Road under Bridge (RUB) and issues pertaining to Land acquisition in AP State were reviewed in detail. The General Manager briefed the Chief Secretary o­n the priority being accorded to the rail infrastructure works in the State and the budgetary allocations being extended for the purpose.

The issues focused by the Chief Secretary, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh related to new railway line between Nadikudi – Sri Kalahasti, Doubling of Guntur – Guntakal ,Vijayawada – Bhimavaram, Vijayawada – Kondapalli, Guntakal – Kalluru doubling & Electrification,Nallapadu – Pagidipalli Electrification and Obulavaripalli – Venkatachalam new rail line. He stated that Land Acquisition status is being monitored o­n a weekly basis to help expedite railway works. With regard to funds required for cost sharing Railway projects, the Chief Secretary stated that funding of the State’s portion for cost sharing rail projects will be examined. Construction of Road under Bridge at Rayalacheruvu level crossing o­n cost sharing basis also came up for discussions with State Government conveying that consent will be given for the same, so as to process for the work.

Earlier during the day, the General Manager performed Earth Breaking Ceremony for the construction of new Out-Patient Block at Railway Hospital, Vijayawada. The General Manager rounded up his visit by holding an interaction with officers of various departments of Vijayawada Division and inspecting the Coaching Depot, Pit line and Intensive Over Hauling Shed at Vijayawada.
