Railway Protection Force (RPF) foils robbery attempt on Aurangabad – Renigunta express in Parli – Latur section


The Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel escorting Train No. 17621 Aurangabad-Renigunta express foiled an attempt by criminals to loot passengers of the train. The incident occurred today i.e., 30th June, 2018 at around 3.07 hrs in the early morning when the criminals stopped the train by tampering with signals at Km No. 233 at the outer signal of Pangaon Railway Station o­n Parli – Latur section in Maharashtra.

As the train stopped, the gang of about 20 - 25 criminals attempted to loot passengers. But the RPF escort party resisted their attempts by continuously focusing torch light and whistling to alert all the passengers of the train to close the windows. The criminals, who could not loot the passengers, then pelted stones o­n the train. However no passenger was injured. At 03.43 hrs, the train left safely from the spot, after a detention of 36 Minutes.

The Additional Superintendent of Police/Latur Road and Deputy Superintendent of Police/Chakur were alerted, who immediately rushed the local police to Pangaon Railway Station to try and apprehend the criminals. Shri Ramakrishna, Senior Divisional Security Commissioner, Secunderabad Division, SCR monitored the situation.
