South Central Railway has been a pioneer in undertaking and implementing the welfare activities among all the zones on Indian Railways. As part of the employee welfare initiatives, the premises of Headquarters Employees Canteen at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad has been renovated and rechristened as “AKSHAYA” - Employees Lounge was inaugurated by
Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav, General Manager and senior most employees in presence of senior officials and huge gathering of staff today i.e., 6thJune, 2018.
The entire ambience of the fully air-conditioned Akshaya Employees Lounge - Staff Canteen has been refurbished with replacement of furniture and cook ware. The aspect of hygiene and cleanliness has been taken utmost care with the introduction of modern gadgets such as automatic dish washing machine and supply of clean drinking water with the installation of RO water filter. In tune with the Central Government policy of encouraging cashless transactions the payments in the Canteen will be available on the cashless mode as POS machines have been installed and also Smart Card kiosks have been established. This has made the Staff Canteen of Rail Nilayam, unique among the Railway Canteens on Indian Railways.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav advised the canteen management to maintain high standards in quality of the food and hygiene, since the ambience provided at the canteen is on par with the star hotels. He stated that South Central Railway became best zone amongst Indian Railways with the efforts of dedicated and hard working employees and they are being provided with best standards in workplaces. The facility will also serve the needs of staff coming from entire zone on various official works.
